Meh. roll eyes

Finding these comments a bit annoying lately. Pretty much any major movie is considered "meh" by some people these days. Star Trek, Avatar... now Iron Man 2. Is there any reason to post a comment at all if you don't like what you've seen?

Personally, I loved the first Iron Man, and I think the 2nd one looks even better. But perhaps that's just me and my "love" for "mindless Hollywood movies".

Yeah, it's a little thing called equal representation. If people only said when they liked something, everything would get perfect reviews.
People are just as entitled to their opinion as you are.

I was actually quite surprised when I saw Iron Man. Given the other comic book adaptations, I assumed it would be quite crap, but Robert Downey Jr was AWESOME! I actually quite like that movie simply for him. Which is also half the reason I like Sherlock Holmes when I saw it, though that was also a fantastic story.

Sure, I don't mind people expressing their opinion. But a 'meh' isn't an opinion, it's a nagging comment.
If you've got a problem with a movie, let's hear about those problems instead of just nagging.

How is it not an opinion?

Quote from: Oxford English Dictionary
opinion

  • noun 1 a view or judgement not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. 2 the beliefs or views of people in general: public opinion. 3 an estimation of quality or worth. 4 a formal statement of advice by an expert or professional.

Given that 'meh' fulfills 1 and 3, and 2 and 4 are about public and professional opinion, I'd say that 'meh' is a perfectly valid opinion. It may not be very constructive, but it's valid.

So stoked for this movie... Like amazingly stoked. Those electro-whips look very badass. I agree, at first I hated the idea of Downey as Stark, but now I'm convinced they are the same person.

A-Team! Do want!

I only recently watched the first Iron man, mainly due to my personal HATRED of the marvel character of tony stark, and everything he did in Civil war. BUT..i loved the film. They did a great job and Robert Downey Jr. as always, rocked.

So yeah..i am looking forward to this one. Heck, i think it would rock if they did Civil war in a movie, but one thing at a time. smile

They're more likely to do the Civil War as an animated movie.

I had no doubts towards Downey as Tony Stark at all.  Tony Stark is an alcoholic narcissist, Downey is a recovering alcoholic narcissist.  I only had doubts about Downey as Sherlock Holmes, but they proved unfounded.

I love the beginning bit at the Senate, perfect Tony Stark dialog, especially the, "I have successfully privatized world peace."
