The "The wait is over." clip

Fans who watched Spike TV’s airing of the 2009 Scream Awards last night got an unexpected bonus, a short “bonus clip” from Star Trek XI showing Nero (Eric Bana) in a Klingon prison.

In the clip, Nero is threatened with the use of a Centaurian slug (in Star Trek XI, he threatens Captain Pike with one of the slugs,) but no one can keep a bad Romulan down for long.

The bonus clip isn’t the only treat for Star Trek fans. Another clip on the site features William Shatner on stage during the Scream Awards teasing J.J. Abrams about Shatner not being in Star Trek XI. Just prior to the events in the clip, Shatner had gone onstage to accept The Ultimate Scream award (”best in show”) for Star Trek XI.

I'm sure people will disagree with me, but I really liked these Klingons, reminded me more of the "Don't screw with us, we'll just screw you right back, just worse" Klingons of TOS than the "Honor, bloodwine, honor!!!" Klingons of TNG on.  Liked the foreshadowing of the Centaurian slug, but that would've been unnecessary in the overall scheme of the movie.  Nero's backstory, on the other hand...well, people would've liked to have seen it.

I liked these Klingon's too, and the helmets were a good way to dodge a bullet on which versions of Klingon's to use (not all Klingon's were hit with augment virus, so technically JJ could have gone either way with them). It makes sense that the ones with the virus might want to conceal their "dishonor" for a while, but you can sense the TOS attitude from them.

Nero was the worst villain next to Sybok or Dr. Soran IMO, such an over attempt to make a brooding angry villain, i read countdown, and i get it, and why he hates vulcans, to be honest, he has every right to believe the Vulcans are responsible for Romulus going boom. BUT..they really overdid the Romulans as Big super strong and well..i know these were vengeful "miners" not regular Centurians, but that didn't make them more interesting, Trek needs to quit re-using Klingons, Romulans, make GORN, or THOLIANS the enemy, those are two underused more interesting aliens, Tholians are my faves because they truly have maintained them as "mysterious" but ""advanced" aliens that we barely understand, when we finally got to see more Tellerite and  Andorians in Enterprise, they were yet another..couple of "stupid" "brute" races in the galaxy, easily offended, "honor" is everything crud which is getting old old old.

use the Tholians JJ !! make us NOT completely understand what motivates them..make the characters challenged to solve the issue with them in movie 2,
Tholians are fucking cool, they are "aliens" we have always had around, and know almost nada about and after their appearance in "in a mirror darkly" i want more. I know i plan to make them the KEY baddies in my series, and the star trek hidden frontier fan series makes the Tholians the prime enemies for most of their series.
