I have created a new Bridge Commander wiki page which hopefully will receive quite a few new updates to it over time, and you can find the site here:

http://bridgecommander.wikidot.com

I have thus far only created one page, and it seemed appropriate to begin with the "Foundation" of BC modding. The text used is copied directly from the Foundation entry at BC Files, and can ofcourse be edited by someone else who might know more.

http://bridgecommander.wikidot.com/foundation

Depending on how much interest this Wiki page gets, I will be accepting a select few members as "Moderators" to maintain the site and make sure the information is fairly up to date. At current, the wiki is open for any members to create and edit the pages, but may at a later date be restricted to merely editing pages.

hm.

I suggest that, unless it's written in Wikipedia's rules, that you stay away from "notability only" type articles.  there's been a lot of complaints about wiki deleting articles because they're not notable enough to keep cheeky

I'm looking foreward to contributing.

Dunno if Wikidot has similar rules to Wikipedia. All I know is that Wikidot was free to setup, and it seems to work "well enough" cheeky

I think that's up to the particular wiki's administrator, we've never had that problem at STEU, although we do have issues with people Confusing us with MG. wink

I've begun work on an expansive article covering the general process of creating ships for BC.

Dunno if Wikidot has similar rules to Wikipedia.

Wikidot is just a "wiki farm", so long as the content isn't outright illegal, you run the wiki by your own rules. The point of having your own is that you avoid the "notability" issue that stops Wikipedia having an article about every single individual on the planet - RationalWiki, fro instance has a lot of stuff that Wikipedia wouldn't (and shouldn't) touch. And you can also do your own manual of style which is much better to read than WP, which can be bone-dry and very difficult to learn from on some of the articles.

Wikidot is also pretty good, although it's not as powerful and extensible as Media Wiki by far (but you don't need your own hosting). Just make sure that you keep an eye on it, structure it well from the beginning and get plenty of enthusiastic contributers. It's certainly not the same experience as a conventional forum but, IMHO, it's a lot more fun because of the collaborative nature of the project that the wiki is representing.

BCS and KM sites should be added to the "Third-party sites" category...
