Hmm, I both like and dislike the crystal position, but the impulse engines are great. Maybe try putting two smaller crystals on each side of the "neck?"

Perhaps, if you keep the way that new connection between the saucer and engineering hull looks but reduce the length of the torpedo launchers and put the impulse crystal back ontop of the engineering hull, it would look perfect IMHO.

To be honest it doesn't really fit the ships design, you have all these "thin" profiles and then suddenly a large bulky structure. The other had the benefit of still retaining the sleek shapes and has a flow to it that just seems right. Personally, I'd suggest having the impulse crystal located just fore of the Engineering neck, where the rectangle that follows it blends with a light curve into the neck (If this makes any sense).

Unless you're planning on giving the current stuff more "Flow"...

I'd say create a new torpedo pod design, that or have the torpedoes housed in the connecting pylons between the saucer and secondary hull.

I'm thinking of reverting back to the mono, dorsal and sticking the crystal back on top of the secondary hull.

How about scaling the crystal down 50% and but one on either side of the neck?

I would go with a TMP Connie Torpedo Launcher. I like the impulse configuration, looks very TMP like. The science dome thing or Crystal as people call it cheeky can fit anywhere, either on the sides or top, it looks better on the sides though like on a Constellation Class.

Almost perfect. I would consider not having the impulse engines stick as far as they do in that picture though.

actually the observation lounge deck... I get the feeling it should project back toward where the impulse engines are at the end of the saucer... sorta like on the original Kelvin (using a pic of Wile E's Kelvin for an example) with the impulse crystal on the top of it

Shouldn't the connecting pylons be switched? You have the pylon that typically connects the saucer to the secondary hull connecting the saucer to the nacelle, and the one which typically connects the nacelle to the sec. hull is connecting the sec. hull to the saucer.

Another WIP, this time a starbase carved it to an asteroid.

This is roughly based on a painting from star trek phase 2 concept art.

Neat asteroid base, that's a pretty cool idea.
